Her Life

A devoted mother, farmer and church elder

Born in 1935 in Kyala Village, Kiteta Location, Mbooni Division, the third-born child of the late Mutisya Nzioka and Ndinda Nzioka.

10 Children
38 Grandchildren
46 Great-grandchildren

Serah married her beloved husband, the late Wilson Muindi Mutisya, in 1950. She was a very hardworking farmer and a businesswoman who traded at the Tawa market, buying food crops at wholesale and selling them at retail.

A devoted church elder of ABC Tawa, she pioneered ABC Kyala together with the late Naomi Mwikya and Lydia Ndolo. Even at home she stayed active in the church through her tithes, offering and Holy Communion.

She was a very prayerful woman. She would pray for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, the church, the government and everybody who visited her. On the night of the 9th, Mwaitu led the family in prayers before they retired to bed, and in the early hours of the morning she peacefully rested.

Mama will be remembered for her great mentorship and her contribution to the Christian fraternity.
